Beneslider

At Neyo Orthodontics, we’re proud to use the latest techniques to give our patients the best outcomes with the most comfort possible. The Beneslider is one of the advanced devices we use in certain orthodontic cases, particularly for younger patients who need space in the upper jaw.

What is the Beneslider?

The Beneslider is a small, custom-fitted orthodontic appliance used to move upper molars backwards. This creates space in the mouth without the need for tooth extractions or bulky headgear.

It’s a discreet, fixed device that sits comfortably on the roof of the mouth and works gently over time. It’s most commonly used in growing children and teens, but in some cases, it can be helpful for adults too.

Why do we use the Beneslider?

In some patients, the upper teeth are crowded, or the back teeth are positioned too far forward. Traditionally, treatment might involve removing teeth or wearing headgear to push the molars back.

The Beneslider provides a more modern and comfortable alternative that:

  • Creates space in the upper jaw
  • Helps align teeth without extractions
  • Is completely hidden inside the mouth
  • Requires no need for external headgear
  • Works automatically – you don’t need to do anything special once it’s in place

How does the Beneslider work?

The Beneslider is anchored by mini-implants (called TADs or temporary anchorage devices) placed in the palate. These implants are tiny, safe and well-tolerated.

A custom wire connects the mini-implants to the upper molars. Gentle, consistent pressure moves the molars backward over time, making space for other teeth to align properly.

Is the Beneslider painful?

Most patients say the Beneslider is surprisingly comfortable. You might feel some pressure or mild soreness in the first few days, but this usually fades quickly.

The TAD placement is a quick and simple procedure done here in our clinic – no stitches or recovery time needed.

How long will I wear the Beneslider?

Treatment times vary, but the Beneslider is usually worn for several months, depending on your case. We’ll monitor your progress closely and let you know what to expect every step of the way.

Once the desired movement is complete, we’ll remove the appliance and move on to the next stage of your orthodontic plan, usually braces or aligners.
