The cost of metal braces

Traditional metal braces typically range from £4,000 to £5,500 across the UK. This is generally less expensive than white ceramic braces or lingual braces, which are placed behind the teeth.

At our two clinics in West Sussex and Kent, we offer metal braces for both upper and lower arches at a fixed price of £3,990.

This cost covers all appointments and adjustments, fixed or bonded retainers with a 3-year guarantee, and removable Essix retainers to be worn after treatment.

For added flexibility, we provide 0% interest finance over 12 months, allowing you to spread the cost. Patients can straighten both arches for just £332.50 per month with no deposit required and no extra fees.

Are metal braces right for me?

Metal braces are a trusted and durable option, suitable for both teenagers and adults. They’re often more affordable than other brace types and highly effective for complex tooth movements, including rotated teeth and various bite issues.

Choosing the right orthodontic treatment depends on your individual goals, dedication, and patience. Schedule a consultation to find out which braces are the best fit for you.

Do metal braces take longer?

If you have a more complex orthodontic issue, there’s no quick or simplified solution – realigning your teeth and bite properly takes time and precision.

While accelerated versions of Invisalign® treatment exist, they’re generally not suitable for patients with severe bite issues or cases requiring significant tooth movement. In these situations, fixed braces may be the more effective option.

Although metal braces are sometimes seen as slower, they typically take between 6 and 24 months, and in some cases may only extend treatment by a few months compared to Invisalign® Comprehensive.
